This was a wonderful tournament, nice playing facility and restaurant. 18 Entrants representing 8 States, including Our 3-Move World Champion Alex Moiseyev. Seven local friends and players dropped by to watch and visit. I picked up several practice games with Steve Bryant a concrete contractor. Mayor Larry Albright of Haleyville opened our tournament with a warm welcome and presented everyone with a 911 lapel pin. Haleyville, AL is "Home of 9-1-1" introducing the nation's first 9-1-1 system, which allow Senator Rankin Fite to implement it by dialing the first 911 call from a phone in Haleyville, AL. February 22, 1968. World's First 9-1-1 Call We had plenty of meal coupons, grab bags, snacks, and bottle water throughout the ty. We are grateful for Frank & Mary Davis who officiated as scorekeeper and for our Tournament Directors Larry Pollard and Dallas Ramsey. Thank You! to all who helped bring this event together.
