Missouri held its GAYP Tournament for the first time in many years. We had 4 players from Nebraska, C.W. Nuss from Kansas, and 5 players from Missouri.

Congratulations to C.W. Nuss for winning the tournament. Congratulations also to Myrl Sartain, the new 2009 Missouri State GAYP Champion.

Myrl is 88 years young and resides with his son in St. Joseph, Missouri. Myrl has been playing checkers since he was 22 years old. His first tournament was at Milan, Missouri in 1983. Congratulations, Myrl !

This was Lonnie Gray's first tournament and he joined MCA also.

5 rounds of Swiss (GAYP) 1 1/4 hour per rounds - 2 game rounds - 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.

No cash prize or enter fees.

Darlene Stallsworth served as scorekeeper and referee.

Everyone enjoyed the good fellowship and playing checkers.
