Updated: September 3, 6:00 pm    I talked to Annie and Jeff on the phone Thursday evening and Jeff had his by-pass surgery Monday.  The operation was successful and he said he was feeling good, and they had him up walking. He said he thought he might get to go home Saturday if all continues to go well.  They did not uses stints by remove veins from his leg, arm, and neck to do the 4 by-passes. Jeff said he got his bad heart from both sides (a hereditary thing) his Dad died with a heart attack at 47. We are thankful for modern medical advancement and continue to keep Jeff in our prayers.

Update:  I talked to Annie, Jeff's wife Sunday about 10:30 am and she told me Jeff is now in room 3709.  He was having chest pain last Tuesday, August 25, thinking it was a bad case of heart burn or acid reflux, but it persisted, so Annie insisted he get checked out by his doctor.  They ran all the normal heart test, checking heart beat, blood pressure, cholesterol, ekg. etc. which were normal, but sent him to a heart specialist for further testing, and here he under went a treadmill stress test. This caused him to trip on the problem.  He had pain and trouble breathing.  Heart catheterization discovered four bad blockages of the heart. They kept him, at the hospital and started a regiment for preparation for heart surgery.  The good news according to his heart doctors is he is young and probably one of the healthiest patients they have scheduled for surgery, and glad they caught the problem early as they did. We will keep Jeff & Annie in our prayers and I will try update often.  Her cell is 336-932-2409.
