Elbert Lowder passed away 2:30AM this Thursday morning, December 14, 2006 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 310 Commerce Drive, Sanford, NC. He had been transferred there just a few day ago from Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  Elbert will be cremated and the memorial service will be in Albemarle at First Street United Methodist Church on January 13, 2007 at 2:30 PM.  obituary

Latest on Elbert 12/2/2006:  Elbert is in room 324 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  It is sad to know he is still there.


11/22/06 Wednesday,  Elbert was suppose to be move to the Convalescent Center of Lee Co. in Sanford, Friday, November 17th. but took a turn for the worst and when back into ICU for several days, but now is in room 301 med 1 as of 11/22/06.


11/12/06  Sunday, 10PM:  I talked to Clint Pickard who spoke to Tim Laverty Saturday, I understand Elbert has made some improvement after nearly two weeks in ICU... They have moved him out of ICU into room 303.  I would hope this means he is better, having stabilized him, and moving toward recovery. I don't want to get hopes up until I talk to Tim tomorrow.  A Checker Friend, JR Smith


10/31/06 Tuesday,  Elbert Lowder is on 3rd floor, ICU at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.  He was hospitalized Sunday, October 29, 2006 by a heart attack. His condition is serious.  Our Love, and Prayers are with Elbert for his recovery and restoration. NCCA sent a vase of cut flowers and card.  Tim Laverty his business partner, has the latest information 919-776-5910.  The Hospital address is 1135 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330  919-774-2100.  I understand visitation is open only to family.
