GREAT LAKES INTERNATIONAL CHECKERS 100-SQUARE TOURNAMENT (CORRESPONDENCE STYLE) TO START

If you think you might be interested in more games of International Checkers (100-square), we have a league or series of tournaments organized on ItsYourTurn.com. We set it up 10 years ago with a small group of friends from the Great Lakes states, and have expanded to other states and occasionally a foreign player. We are just now completing our 30th tournament.

Usually we have about 10 or 11 contestants and play a round robin, which means you would have 9 or 10 opponents at once. We set time limits for 14 or 21 days to allow for vacations, but generally expect the players to move about once a day. It takes 3 or 4 months to finish the tournament.

We are amateur players, not masters--usually a guy from Delaware gets top place, but once in a while we get a hot-shot Dutch or Russian Player who beats everyone.  If this sort of thing would interest you, let me know. I am asking the other players to reply by Tuesday, May 28, and we would start a day or two after that.

If you are not familiar with the site, log on to www.itsyourturn.com and get an idea of how it works.  GLICC is not run directly by IYT, but started as a group of friends interested in the game (Big-Board 10X10).
