STOKES LEXINGTON, NC Landon Stokes August 5, 1931 - Nov. 11, 2012 Landon Stokes, age 81, passed away Sunday morning, November 11, 2012 at his home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Harris officiating. Landon was born August 5, 1931 in Watauga County to Edward Bynum Stokes and Chloe Harmon Stokes. He was plant manager of Multicraft, Inc. and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Hensel, Edward, Ralph, Bill and Roger Stokes. He is survived by his wife Betty Ann Jones Stokes of the home; two sons, James Donald Stokes and John Robert Stokes both of Arcadia; two daughters, Patricia Everhart and husband Eugene of Midway, Lana Sue Stokes of Arcadia; two brothers, Len Stokes and wife Frankie of Boone, Jim Stokes and wife Ann of Chilhowie, VA; two sisters, Peggy Banner and husband Martin, Ruth Creed and husband Dennis all of Boone; three grandchildren, Shannon, April, Stephen; four great-grandchildren, Sadie, Brady, Kaiya and Jake.
