David Heath told me Orzo was a regular participant at their checker gatherings, and they would group travel to his antique store and play. Beulaville is about 30 miles SSW of Kinston.  He was a well off antique dealer and his wife and daughter were school teachers. David said I remember taking a car load, I believe we had 7 in the car, to one of Cecil's fish fry.  They had caught a big pile of American and hickory shad.  David will have to tell you the difference between the two.  He said he had never seen such a pile of fish and the iron frying pan the lady was cooking them on was like 3 feet wide. Cecil would plan a "backyard fish-fry" around their seasonal Chowan river seining parties.
