Bob Murr's wife Tanna for 48 years, passed away 3:45PM Saturday, April 28, 2012.  Bob hasn't been active in checkers for several years because of Tanna's poor health and his need to be close and taking care of her.

Tanna L. Murr Obituary

Tanna L. Murr (Higbee), beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her Colorado Springs home on April 28, 2012. Her family surrounded her when she passed from a long illness with lung cancer. She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 25, 1944, the first of two children born to the late Elmo J. and L. Varie Higbee. Tanna graduated from Falcon High School in 1962. After graduation she worked at Farmer's Insurance as a file clerk. She met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Murr, while on a blind date in 1963. They were married in Falcon, Colorado at her parents' home on June 28, 1964. She loved her work as a mother, and held various jobs in food service and tax preparation during her life. Her outside interests included golf, bowling, reading, horseback riding, decorating her home, caring for her pets and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert L. Murr; loving children Cindy (Robb) Rayfield of Englewood, Colorado; Wendy (Brent) Mott of Colorado Springs; precious grandchildren Andrew, Ryan, Kevin, Chase and Annika; as well as host of wonderful cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, James Rand Higbee of Tampa, Florida. Celebration of Life services will take place Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 10:00am at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Private inurnment will take place at Memorial Gardens, Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to Pikes Peaks Hospice.
