Paul Davis, Rose Hill, VA won the 1987 Virginia Open held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 25th - 27th, in Bedford at the Best Western Motel. Runner-up was Les Balderson, followed by Earl Luffman, Vic Defenderfer, Fred Church, Q. T. East, Raleigh Johnson, and Joe McClellan. Wade Holder, Fayetteville, N.C. won the B Division Tourney, with W. E. Williams second. There were 22 entrants, 14 and 8 in the two divisions, and a $606 prize fund. The 1987 officers were re-elected for 1988 - Les Balderson, Pres., Jack Richardson, V.P., and Paul Davis, Secretary. The 1988 Virginia State Open will also be played in Bedford, Virginia.
