Funeral Services for Mrs. Peggy Joyce Burton, age 92, will be held at 1pm on Monday, December 22, 2025, in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 12 – 1 pm before the service. Mrs. Burton passed away on December 16, 2025, at Rainbow Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Bartlett, TN. She was born on May 13, 1933, in Dyersburg, TN to the late Forrest Lewis and Addie Hardee Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh Burton; sons, Randall Burton, Danny Burton; siblings, Mildred Blackwell David, Bobby Lewis, and Tommy Lewis.

Mrs. Burton was a teacher for the Madison County School District.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her daughter, Patti Solomito (Joe); brother, Sunny Lewis; sister, Diane Wright; grandchildren, Clay Burton (Pam), Jestin Burton (Jae), Angelina Armstrong (Aaron), Rachael Jackson (Davis); great grandchildren, Madeline Burton and Reagan Burton.
