Joe Tucker, Sr. passed away peacefully at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center
in Poplar Bluff, MO, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the age of 72. He was
born May 7, 1954, in Doniphan to the late George and Marie (Meadors) Tucker.
Joe work for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for several years. Following family tradition, Joe loved playing checkers and went to several tournaments over the years
On September 25, 1976, Joe married Sallie (Chelmowski) Tucker in Doniphan. She preceded him in death on September 27, 2005. He later married Amanda (Chambers) Tucker, his wife of 20 years. She survives. Also surviving is his son, David Joe Tucker, Jr.; his grandson, Dakota Tucker; a great-grandson, Mathew Joe Tucker; his granddaughters, Cadence, Abigail, and Emmy Hines; and his stepchildren, Deloris Hendrix and Billy Hines. He also leaves behind a niece, Jolita Ricketts, and her two children, Madison and Gregory.
Visitation will be held at the Doniphan First Baptist Church on Monday, August 17, 2026, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Monty Flanigan will be officiating. Burial will be in Pope Chapel Cemetery.
