2008 Nationals

 2008 “Gene Lindsay Memorial” 3-Move National Tournament

July 21^st through 25^th in Las Vegas at the The Vegas Club Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada

46^th Nationals  27 Total Entrants competed Monday thru Friday. 

All divisions played eight four-game rounds. The Masters use the traditional round scoring. The Majors and Minors will play 4-game rounds, scoring by game (2 points for each win, 1 point for each draw, and 4 points for a bye)  Entry fees was $50 (Masters) / $30 (Majors) / $20 (Minors). ACF Membership is required to enter all divisions, and may be paid at registration.  8 rounds of 4 games each, scored by round - 1 rounds Monday, 2 Tuesday, 2 Wednesday, 2 Thursday, 1 Friday (see announcement for Masters schedule)

• Congratulations to GM Alex Moiseyev for winning the US National 3-Move Championship.  Just 2 match points separated Moiseyev and King going into their final 8th round. The Championship in the balance!  4 draws and after the match Alex showing Ron where he missed a win in the final game...
• This Master Division was the top of the World when considering Checkers / Draughts talent and aptitude.
Master Division played Swiss Style, 2 points for win, 1 point for draw, and 4 points for a bye.
• Kim Willis was scorekeeper.
• News coverage during week and a spot on local newscast.  Prize fund was:  Masters $5,041, Majors $2,465, Minors $1,315, Youth $530, = Total Cash Prize $9,351.00
